In 2009 we purchased a building in the center of mazara del vallo, in an ancient and typical courtyard, with the idea for the apartments to accommodate the tourists passing in mazara del vallo, and offer them a ' host other than that normally offered by a hotel room, or by a small chamber within a b. & b. in a real, in contact with the real life of mazara, to allow them a permanence independent and autonomous. after more than a year of extensive renovations old courtyard st. augustine was born, a residence for tourists, recovering the existing built by using environmentally friendly materials, bio-ecological and environmentally friendly, which is located in the center of mazara del vallo, street in st. augustine at number 25, in the heart of the historic city center, just steps from the ancient "casbah", ie from the historic center characterized by an urban structure characterized by an intersection of narrow, winding once made for better defend themselves from sun, wind and from the attacks of enemies, blind alleys overlooked characteristic courtyards with wells for water and sinks (the cd. stacked stone), the islamic urban fabric can be seen today. the apartments are located within one of these ancient and charming courtyards, adjacent to the monastery of cloistered benedictine nuns, and the church of san michele arcangelo, attached to the monastery, but at the same time the central area is peaceful and quiet, two- steps from corso umberto i, the main commercial artery of the city, and the beautiful beach in the city but at the same time, a few minutes drive from the famous seaside resort "tonnarella". the strategic position of our structure allows to have at hand, and within easy walking distance, both the beach and the main places of architectural interest such as the museum of the satyr, and the wonderful shops in the center, for shoppers; for lovers of outdoor evenings, our property is adjacent to the area's nightlife mazarese, which takes place in the via garibaldi, located about one hundred meters from our courtyard, far enough away to ensure peace of mind to our guests who prefer stand. the guest accommodation is in rooms of various sizes with bathroom, comfortable, bright and furnished with taste and simplicity. the result is an extremely pleasant and welcoming, which is a pleasure to relax after a day at the beach or sightseeing. all rooms are quiet and equipped with every comfort: air conditioning, heating, tv, bathroom with separate shower. between late 2011 and early 2012 we performed the additional maintenance work to improve the already friendly structure, we installed a pair of solar panels to provide domestic water to the rooms to make your holiday more environmentally friendly with us, and we have insulated the attic and some parts of the walls, to improve the comfort of our rooms. the works of maintenance and improvement of the existing courtyard at old st. augustine never end, and so as to make you live forever magic moments.
